On October 23, 2014, the IRS announced Cost of Living Adjustments (COLA) related to retirement plans effective January 1, 2015. Caras & Shulman, PC has recently promoted Rachael Hylan, CPA, MPAc to Tax Supervisor. Rachael will be responsible for preparing and reviewing a variety of tax returns, assisting in tax planning and estimations, and responding to notices and law changes for Caras & Shulman's closely held businesses and high-net-worth individuals, as well as mentoring others in the firm.

Caras & Shulman, PC is pleased to announce the following staff member promotions: Angela M. Marks, CPA, QKA, QPA, has been promoted to Retirement Administration Manager. Her responsibilities include developing custom-designed retirement plans to help Caras & Shulman, PC clientele meet their long-term goals, as well as, providing ongoing third party administration services for retirement plans. She is actively involved with the annual IRS required compliance testing and asset reconciliation. Caras & Shulman, PC recently hosted the 22nd Integra International AAA Conference in Boston.  The conference brought together more than 120 attendees representing over 40 firms from the Americas, Asia, Australia, and Europe. Integra International is an interactive global association of local independent Accounting and Consulting firms dedicated to exchanging information and advising growing businesses and professionals. Caras & Shulman has been a member firm since June 1996. The conference in Boston offered Caras & Shulman the opportunity to spend time with other national and international members while gaining valuable information from various speakers.
